This Privacy Policy covers how we treat Personal Data that we gather when you access or use our platform. Personal Data does not include business contact information or contact details.  This Privacy Policy applies to you any time you submit Personal Data through Garage Online Sale, except in cases where such Personal Data is publicly available.  It also applies to every treatment of data or information that we receive from or about you.  We comply with the privacy norms under the applicable Canadian and provincial legislation every time you access and/or browse our website.

Categories of Sources of Personal Data

We collect Personal Data about you from the following categories of sources:

• When you provide such information directly to us.
• When you create an account on Garage Online Sale. 
• When you voluntarily provide information in free-form text boxes through the platform or through responses to surveys or questionnaires. 
• When you send us an email or otherwise contact us.

• We may use analytics service providers to analyze how you interact and engage with the platform, or third parties may help us provide you with customer support.
• We may use vendors to obtain information to generate leads and create user profiles.

• We receive information about you from some of our vendors who assist us with marketing or promotional services. This may include information related to how you interact with our websites, applications, products, platform, advertisements or communications.

• If you provide your social network account credentials to us or otherwise sign in to the platform through a third-party site or service, some content and/or information in those accounts may be transmitted into your account with us, for example, your name, your profile photo and email address, and additional information that may be necessary to authenticate your access to the platform in the future.

We will not collect additional categories of Personal Data or use the Personal Data we collected for materially different, unrelated or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

Where we have received complaints of a user allegedly involved in scams, fraud, or other suspicious activity, we may review such user's Garage Sale Online messaging history for the sole purpose of protecting the Garage Sale Online community and prosecuting such harmful activities. 

How We Share Your Personal Data

We disclose your Personal Data to the categories of service providers and other parties listed in this section. To the extent located within Canada, these parties are legally obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the Personal Data communicated to them and their handling and use of the information should be in compliance with applicable laws.  However, we have no control over whether or not these third parties do in fact comply with applicable laws.  Some of our service providers may be located outside of Canada and as such, their handling of your Personal Data is governed by applicable foreign laws.

• Service Providers. These parties help us provide business functions on our behalf. They include:
• Hosting, technology and communication providers.
• Analytics providers. 
• Support and customer service vendors.
• Payment processors.
• Our payment processing partners, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) and Paypal Holdings Inc. ("Paypal") collect your voluntarily-provided payment and banking information necessary to process your payment.

• Advertising Partners and Select Partners. These parties help us market our services and provide you with other offers that may be of interest to you. They include:
• Ad networks.
• Marketing providers.

• If you send messages to other users, your name, username and the content of such messages will be available to such other Users. 

Protection

We take reasonable steps to provide adequate and appropriate protection to your Personal Data through the use of physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. We retain your Personal Data only for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet our legal obligations, and will not disclose it without your consent or as required by applicable laws.

Access

You have the right to request certain information about our collection and use of your Personal Data over the past 12 months. In response, we will provide you with the following information:

• The categories of Personal Data that we have collected about you.
• The categories of sources from which that Personal Data was collected.
• The categories of third parties with whom we have shared your Personal Data.

If we have disclosed your Personal Data to any third parties for a business purpose, we will identify the categories of Personal Data shared with each category of third party recipient.

Deletion

You can delete your Personal Data “Permanently delete my account “. If you delete your account, your Personal Data will be deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. All the listings you have created will be removed. You will not be able to reactivate your account.

Information where other users are involved (conversations with other users, transactions you have made, reviews you have given to others, etc) is not removed when you delete your account. However, your name will no longer be displayed next to this information.

You have the right to request that we delete the Personal Data that we have collected from you. However, this right is subject to certain exceptions: for example, we may need to retain your Personal Data to provide you with the services or complete a transaction or other action you have requested.
